The Top 5 Benefits of Mobile Storage

    By Matthew Thornton | blog | 3 comments | 4 August, 2020 | 0

There are over 48,500 self-storage facilities in America.

This proves there’s a high demand for extra storage especially mobile storage which is more versatile. If you’re interested in mobile storage but you don’t know about the benefits, you’ve come to the right place.

Here are the top Five advantages.

    What Is Mobile Storage?

Mobile storage units can be considered an upgrade from traditional self-storage options.

You pack the unit, the mobile storage company will take your belongings to a secure facility for as long as you need it. When you would like your items, they return them to you

Portable storage containers come in an array of sizes. For example, the 7-foot units can store belongings from one room whereas a 12-foot can hold items from two to three rooms.

The Main Uses for Mobile Storage Units

There are many reasons you may use mobile storage. For instance, mobile storage streamlines moving as it lets you move your items incrementally instead of all at once.

Or your home may be undergoing a renovation. Instead of squeezing the coach into your kid’s room, use mobile storage to keep your items orderly during the process. Another perk is how you can pack items temporarily so you can continue living normally.

Businesses may also need additional storage. Mobile storage offers the flexibility of space so you don’t need to lease an extra office or clutter your workspace.

Top 5 Benefits of Mobile Storage

Now you understand what mobile storage containers are, it’s important to consider the advantages. These units make your life easier and guarantee your possessions are safe.

    Consider these benefits, for example:

    1. Convenience

The main advantage of a mobile self-storage unit is how convenient they are. Instead of heading to the storage site, mobile storage pods are packed and delivered to your desired location.

This is fantastic if you’re moving house as you can directly pack your unit instead of dealing with daily truck rental fees, so you save time and money. Plus, you know how much you can store in the unit without worrying whether if you’ve packed too much or not.

    2. High-Level of Security

Every mobile home storage unit is heavily surveilled 24/7 so no items are stolen. The units are stored in a secured facility and are monitored to prevent burglaries or any accidents. Also, you’re the only person who can access the items so no one else can get in.

    3. Prevents Damage

Mobile storage units are often made frm high-quality steel that’s durable so your possessions aren’t damaged when shifting loads. Most mobile storage units are also weatherproof to prevent extreme rain, harsh winds, or humidity from damaging your belongings.

Further, when your mobile storage unit is in the warehouse there’s a sprinkler system, 24-hour monitoring, and regular pest treatments to keep your items are safe.

    4. Cost-Effective

Mobile storage units are a cost-effective way for businesses or residents to store and transport their goods for an extended period. This is far less expensive than building extra warehouse space or hiring a fixed unit.

An added bonus is you’re only paying for the storage and not the moving truck fees. This means mobile storage units can easily be added to a tight budget.

Portable storage is scalable so you can start with a few containers and expand if necessary. This means you can also buy or lease your containers, making them an affordable option for everyone.

Further, you can choose short-term portable storage units if you only need them for a week or two. Using temporary storage means you save on monthly, weekly, or annual rates. Not to mention all the unnecessary stress.

    5. Versatile

One of the major benefits of mobile storage units is how they are available in a wide range of sizes depending on your needs. Further, you can use these units in a variety of locations and for different purposes.

For example, if your home is getting repaired after a storm then you have a temporary place to store your belongings. This means you can find a unit that’s cheaper than others if you don’t need much space.

It’s also a safe place for retailers to store their stock. If you’re holding a sale but don’t have enough inventory space, use a mobile storage unit to stock up the extra items you’ll need.

Or online stores often need mobile storage units to keep all the items packed and ready for online customers. This saves you from cluttering your brick-and-mortar store or having to hunt for a larger space. It also means the items ready to be shipped are separate from your current inventory.

A portable storage solution is also perfect for other industries like construction crews or landscaping where you need to store equipment and keep it for future use.

You can also customize a mobile storage unit to fit your personal or business needs. So if you’re worried about the temperature of your mobile storage unit, add insulation to protect your belongings from the elements.

Those Are the Benefits of Mobile Storage Units

Those are the top five advantages of using mobile storage units whether for business or personal reasons.

Mobile storage makes it easier to transport goods, protect your belongings, and have a cost-effective option. Further, mobile storage offers a high-level of security to ensure your items are safe 24/7.

You made a good point when you said that it is less expensive to rent a storage container compared to building an extra warehouse. My husband and I are interested in finding an area where we can store our belongings that don’t fit in the basement anymore, especially since we have precious vases at home. We have a restricted budget to consider, so we will be sure to follow your tips.

Hello! My husband’s workplace will be undergoing a total renovation starting next week which means a number of appliances and belongings there have to be stored away for a while. I’m so happy to learn that mobile storage is such an economical option, especially if we’re under a tight budget to begin with. I’ll share this with him so he can make a deal with the right company really soon.
